Four-row tapered roller bearings can accommodate combined (radial and axial) loads at low to moderate speeds. They are used almost exclusively in work roll applications such as rolling mills. The four-cup design (four separate outer rings) provides optimal load distribution over all four rows of rollers.Four-row taper roller bearings are used successfully worldwide for rolling mill bearing arrangements, particularly as work and backup roll bearings for hot as well as cold rolling mills. As they can support both heavy radial loads and simultaneously acting axial loads they permit simple and cost effective roll neck bearing arrangements.
The four-row taper roller bearings are available in a wide range of sizes and designs appropriate to the application. As the result of an upgraded design, open and sealed variants of the four-row tapered roller bearings are identical in terms of external dimensions and load carrying capacity, setting a new standard for interchangeability and design freedom.
